It’s a gloomy Sunday morning. And while I usually dream for a sunny weekend, there is some comfort in being home with the person you love, staying warm, while watching the cold weather outside, drinking hot coffee, and of course preparing a cozy breakfast. I find the homemade breakfast is really vital for this type of situations. And in our home, nothing is more welcome for breakfast than pancakes. And that is true for any day, but Sundays … well we need it more than ever. Because Sundays are hard, with the weekend quickly going to an end, and the work week slowly immersing in our minds. Remember last time I told you about the chocolate fiesta that I threw in the kitchen?

Well, besides the chocolate cookies that I baked (that only got better with time, by the way), I also made a chocolate cheesecake. All in effort to touch the heart of a very special chocolate lover who resides with me :).

Cheesecake is the one think that I nailed since day 1. Yes, it has happened to have cracks, and in the beginning I had a lot of issues with an old oven, but despite the little bumps in my way, cheesecake has always been a success, taste and texture wise. Maybe, because I always treated it with respect and devotion, or maybe because, in reality, this is one of the easiest dessert to put together. Continue reading

Chocolate Heart Cookies

Last Saturday, during lunch, my Dad said accusingly to my Mom, that if she had invited me for lunch, they would have had a dessert.

And he was right. His statement made me realize that almost always I have something sweet to share with my family and friends. Because if only two people were to eat the produce of my silent obsession, these two people, who also happen to have a big sweet tooth, would have some serious weight problems by now (even more serous that the ones already existing). And I don’t want that to happen. So,  I share. And people are starting to see me as the dessert lady. Continue reading
